Hi, there!
I am Valentina, a multidisciplinary designer based in Porto, Portugal.
I am passionate about art and power of transforming abstract concepts into
tangible ideias, exploring creativity through a singular and conscious
approach. My work spans different areas of design, from typography and
graphic design to audiovisual and web development.
My first contact with design happened during the Technical Course in Events at the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil. As my final course project, I developed a market research using the Event Design Canvas to create a solution that would bring young graduates closer to the regional job market. Continuing this passion, I am currently completing my Bachalor's Degree in Design and Multimedia at the University of Coimbra.
During my studies, I worked on projects that gained recognition beyound
academia. In a collaborative project, I produced a biographical
documentary about the life of a transgender actress, which was selected
and screened at the queer short film festival 'Queer Curtas ou Não'
in Lisbon. In the audiovisual field, I also redesigned the opening titles
for João César Monteiro's film 'Quem Espera por Sapatos de Defunto Morre
Descalço', screened as a tribute to the actor Luís Miguel Sintra at the
Caminhos do Cinema Português film festival in Coimbra.
My work is shaped by my values and interests — it is where I express who I am and what I believe in. My style is moulded by the way I see the world, deeply influenced by my journey as a Brazilian woman and immigrant. I believe in the transformative power of the art and culture on society and I like to connect design with social and environmental issues.
I am open to new opportunities and collaborations! Here you will find some of my favorite works. I invite you to explore and hope you enjoy :)
